Pumpkin Carving Pics

We all carved pumpkins last weekend, so I thought I would share some photoz.

I designed the pattern for and carved the F-35 one.

No, computer controlled lasers were used.

Except the face with all of the thin lines, that was my dad with a machete.





By free hand you mean.. what?

Patterns were made/copied onto a piece of paper. Key points along the lines were marked by poking a hole through the paper.

Then it becomes connect the dots, with a pumpkin carving saw (about 2 inches long blade, about 3mm wide)

There is some technique, to make it look right you normally want the pieces to be sort of tapered, so that the pattern on the inside is bigger than the pattern on the outside. This makes for much better viewing angles.
